Hydrocellular polyurethane foam has a tristratified structure and an entire hydroactive surface.
Dressing composed of a highly absorbent polyurethane foam layer that provides controlled absorption of exudate, a transpiring polyurethane outer film that prevents maceration of the perilesional area, and a perforated polyurethane film that does not adhere to the wound allowing painless and trauma-free removal.
The dressing conforms perfectly to the wound bed, promoting the ideal environment for the healing process. The high absorption capacity of the PU foam dressing allows for fewer changes while ensuring patient comfort and reduced costs in wound management.
The unique “flat-edge” design facilitates the application of a secondary fixation dressing (tape plaster, polyurethane film – Euroderm or Euroderm roll – or cohesive bandage) and provides additional protection from spillage. In the presence of necrotic tissue or fibrinous lesions, use in combination with Hydromed gel is recommended.
The dressing can remain in place for up to 7 days. The frequency of change is related to the type of lesion, amount of exudate, and clinical condition. Euroderm foam is latex-free.
Indications: 1st to 4th stage pressure ulcers, post-operative wounds, vascular lesions, 1st and 2nd degree burns, skin donor sites.
Benefits:
- High absorbency: PU foam dressings require fewer changes, providing patient comfort and reducing costs in wound management.
- Highly conformable and soft, the thickness of the foam creates a cushion effect that reduces pressure on the injury, counteracts any friction forces, and thus provides comfort and protection to the patient.
- Easy to apply: The unique “flat-edge” design facilitates the application of a secondary fixation dressing such as a tape plaster, polyurethane film (Euroderm or Euroderm Roll), or cohesive bandage and provides additional protection from leakage. Use with Hydromed Gel is recommended in necrotic tissue or fibrinous lesions.
- Breathable.
- Water-resistant.
- Acts as a barrier and avoids bacterial contamination.
- Does not adhere to the wound.
- Atraumatic and painless change.
